Are you planning to work in Indonesia? Navigating the complex world of work permits and visas can be overwhelming. Let Okusi Associates handle the process for you with our comprehensive Work Permit and Residence Visa Package.
A work permit and residence visa is compulsory for all foreign workers working in Indonesia, including company directors. If you already have a company that is capable of sponsoring you, then you can arrange for a work permit (Pengesahan RPTKA) and residence visa (“KITAS”, now issued as an electronic limited stay permit, index E23) that will enable you to work for that company legally.
The residence visa and work permit is issued for six months, one year, or two years, depending upon the nature of the employment, and can be extended for as long as the sponsoring company’s RPTKA approval remains valid.
What’s Included in this Package?
This is a complete package, and includes the following documents:
- KITAS / e-ITAS (Limited Stay Permit, index E23): This electronic permit allows you to legally stay and work in Indonesia for a specified period.
- Multiple Re-Entry Permission: Re-entry permission is now built into the electronic stay permit, so you can travel in and out of Indonesia multiple times during your stay without applying for a separate re-entry permit (the former stand-alone “MERP” document).
- RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan) & its Ratification (Pengesahan RPTKA): Approval from the Ministry of Manpower. Since 2018 this ratification functions as the work permit itself, replacing the old IMTA.
- Other Permits: SKTT (Temporary Residence Registration Certificate, issued by the local civil registry office).
What’s Not Included in this Package?
- DKPTKA levy (formerly known as the “Skills & Development Fund” or DPKK) is a compulsory government levy of USD 100 per month per foreign worker — USD 1,200 for a twelve-month permit — payable to the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower for all foreign workers or working company directors. This levy must be paid at the same time the work permit is processed.
- NPWP (Tax ID Number) is mandatory when you are resident in Indonesia for more than 183 days within any twelve-month period. If you do not yet have one, we can arrange it for a separate fee.
