Are you planning to work in Bali, Indonesia, either as a company director or an employee of a company? Navigating the complex world of work permits and visas can be overwhelming. Let Okusi Associates handle the process for you with our comprehensive Work Permit & Visa Complete Package.

A work permit and residence permit is compulsory for all foreign workers working in Bali. If you already have a company that is capable of sponsoring you, then you can arrange a work permit (RPTKA ratification from the Ministry of Manpower, which replaced the former “IMTA”) and an electronic limited stay permit (“KITAS”/e-ITAS, work visa index E23) that will enable you to work legally.

The residence permit and work permit are typically valid for a period of one year, depending upon the nature of the employment, and can be extended.

What’s Included in the Package?

This is a complete package, and includes the following documents:

  • KITAS (Limited Stay Permit / e-ITAS): This electronic permit allows you to legally stay and work in Indonesia for a specified period. It includes a multiple re-entry permit, so you can travel in and out of Indonesia freely during its validity — the old separate MERP booklet is no longer issued.
  • RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan): The sponsoring company’s plan for employing a foreign worker, submitted to the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Pengesahan RPTKA (RPTKA Ratification): The Ministry of Manpower’s approval of the RPTKA, which now functions as the work permit (replacing the former IMTA, abolished in 2018).
  • Other Registrations: SKTT (civil-registry residence certificate).

What is not included

  • DKPTKA (“Foreign Worker Compensation Fund”, formerly known as the “Skills & Development Fund” or DPKK) — a compulsory government levy of USD 100 per month per foreign worker, payable to the Ministry of Manpower (USD 1,200 for a 12-month permit). This must be paid separately.
