A Multiple Entry Business Visa (MEBV) — visa index D2 under Indonesia’s current visa classification — is a convenient option for foreign nationals who need to make frequent business trips to Indonesia.

This visa allows the holder to enter Indonesia multiple times for business purposes such as attending meetings, conferences, training sessions, seminars, and other business-related activities.

However, it is important to note that the MEBV does not permit the holder to work or earn income in Indonesia. For employment purposes, a Work Permit (Pengesahan RPTKA) and Limited Stay Permit (e-ITAS/KITAS) are required.

Key Features of the Multiple Entry Business Visa

  • Validity: This visa is valid for one year from the date of issuance. Two-year and five-year versions are also available (see related services below).
  • Duration of Stay: Each visit to Indonesia under the MEBV is limited to a maximum of 60 days, which can be extended in-country for up to 180 days in total per visit.
  • Sponsorship: The MEBV must be sponsored by a properly constituted Indonesian legal entity, such as a company, representative office, or other legally registered organization.
  • Eligibility: Most foreign nationals are eligible for the MEBV. Citizens of “calling visa” countries — currently Afghanistan, Guinea, Israel, North Korea, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, and Somalia — require additional clearance from the Directorate General of Immigration before a visa can be issued.
